To those who have not bought the POR yet, I posted a few weeks ago about how I found POR to work compared to hardened urethane. I have POR on my water pump and tranny, and have its sealer in the fuel tank. I have removed the POR that was on the back half of the frame.
If you have the time, I would urge you to consider blasting, using epoxy primer and then hardened urethane. In my case I took the additional step of treating the blasted metal first with Picklex-20, a metal conditioner/rust resistor).
The better adhesion I noticed when using epoxy primer (and the topcoated urethane) on freshly blasted metal is really significant.
I know firsthand as a frame crossmember that had POR on it started to peel after a year or two, there was rust creeping under it. I was able to pull it off in sheets in some places over the rusted metal.
IN an "experiment", when I dipped parts that were coated in either POR or urethane in a lye solution, the POR came off like a hot knife in butter. The urethane looked like I had not touched it.
I would consider using POR or Zero Rust inside doors and other places with rusty metal I could not blast or otherwise remove, but I don't think that in the future I would use it where I could properly prep the metal.
