My 52 ff PW with the original 230 averages 10 MPG or more. I have watched it over 20 years so 10 MPG is solid. The gas gauge has never worked. I assume 10 MPG. I keep track of the miles and fill up when 10 MPG says I am getting low. I have rarely run out of gas (unless I have let it idle a lot or worked the winch). I have seen 14 MPG on the road which has been confirmed by visual fuel measurements and miles traveled.
