1. Screw the stop retainer assembly in the shift lever far enough to center it in the lever.
2. Install the check nut on the stop retainer.
3. Install the reverse stop plug in housing and tighten
4. Then adjust the position of the reverse stop assembly so that the large end of the reverse stop just contacts with the reverse stop plug when the gearshift lever in centered in the housing
5. Then tighten the check nut
