...in the middle 1970's the Corp of Engineers proposed that very type of dyke and levy system, patterned on Hollands. Environmental lawsuits and a leftwing federal judge stopped the project. The reason the lawsuit was filed is that the enviro-wackos feared damage to wildlife, I guess the toxic sludge being pumped into the Lake and River now are a just deserved slap in the face for a reality check.....
