Cost of parts is only one factor. Do you like to work on your truck, or do you consider it torture to get out and get under? How long does a clutch last you? Once you learn to drive a crash box (non-synchro) your clutchs will last a life time. So 1/2 of a clutch will last a looong time.
I think next one I do I'll use an engine hoist in through the door, maybe even take the door off. I'm too old to just sit in the seat, grab the shift lever, and hank it up, and slip it in. Either way, screw two 4 inch long studs into the bell housing holes, stick them into the tranny holes and slide it in.
