I recently pulled an engine and trans out of a 1968 D-500 truck. The door jamb of the truck list a production date of 7-4-68 with the engine listed as 318-3 and trans with 5syn-model 540. The engine does have the scalloped valve covers with the words "Premium318/202HP". Could this possibly be a "Poly" in a 1968 truck? Only numbers that I have found so far on the engine are on the right side behind the fuel pump-2468220. What do you think?
