What year(s)? The 2003 and newer 2500 and 3500 diesels have the same drive train. If you opt for the Hemi, the rear end is slightly smaller in the 2500.

The only differences between my '03 3500 single rear wheel and an '03 2500 besides towing/load capacity are:
my truck has overload springs
my truck has he cab clearance lights as standard equipment.
Oh yeah, and my truck has 3500 emblems on the doors ha ha :-)
