John, the 1948 Mack EG was a cab and chassis, single rear axle truck with gas engine. Garth estimated its weight at 7,000 lb. He towed it about 1,000 miles with a Chev Tahoe, and it got about 10 mpg running about 60 mph. I hope this helps you on your tow. Garth also has a Mack model B that he estimates weighs 12,000 lb.

A tandem axle will add about 1,000 lb. and the 16' flatbed will add 500 to 1,000 lb. A diesel engine will add about 500 to 1,000 lb. over the gas engine.
