Unless you are going into the scrap metal business there is no need to buy this type of equipment. There are much more efficient and precise methods to cut metal these days. Although I admit that it is fun to get out the old "fire axe" and cut the living daylights out of some poor hunk of metal, I certainly would not waste $500 dollars to do so. Don't get me wrong, I have such a setup, but haven't used it in ten years, and I do a fair amount of fabricating. Actually I have used my setup more for gas welding than cutting.
