I, too, am trying to re-build an MU-2 winch from a WC 63. When I assemble the winch, it appears that I need a third ring between the drum and the right-hand shaft support. Another method to solve this problem would be to move the right-hand shaft support over towards the left and re-drill holes in the angle iron. I have tried parts from 4 different MU-2 winches and come up with the same problem of needing an additional ring between the drum and the right-hand support. Also, the winch shaft lacks approximately 3/8 of an inch not going through the right-hand support. Vintage Power Wagons says that the master parts list does not differentiate between different angle iron frames. I am very interested in how you solve this problem. I would also like to talk with you at length.
