Your right on there Harry. there is no replacement for displacement. My 4 ton dodge truck is a 1952 and it is 136 hp rock stock from the factory with its 265. that against a 230 and there is just no comparison.
I mean face it that is why chrysler put the 265 in the chrysler windsor and talk about a lead sled.
In my 48 pw, a 265 with some performance goodies is a machine you can feel goodabout thrashing around off road as opposed to
thrashing the rods or whatever.
Not trashing the 230 or small block but there is a hell sorry, heck of a difference.
