I've towed some rather big loads with my 99 durango and it did ok. There's no question I'd rather have used something with more wheelbase and better stability. The 360 has the poop to tow and I'm sure the newer Hemi is even better. I normally tow a 23ft travel trailer which is real tongue heavy....1100lbs to be exact when the fresh water tank is full. I have the 1000lb equalizer bars sprung very tight and wish they were the 1400lb rating instead to get better weight transfer to the front axle. I also have the friction type sway control which does stiffen things up fairly well. I have towed a PW on a trailer using the EQ bars for a total of 2 miles and never needed to any faster than 35mph and am pretty sure with that much weight behind me I'd rather not have to travel at hightway speeds....things could get ugly quick if the wrong situation happens. So would using a Durango be unsafe when towing a PW? You'd not have much room for error but it could be done with extreme care and a little luck.
