I really can not see a Durango towing a ffPW. I not sure what the maximum that they can tow but if you look a ff PW being 5500# and a trailer sufficient to carry it being 1500# at a minimum that puts you to at least 7000# plus any tools or parts you also put on it. That is a big load for that vehicle. I would suspect that it would be over the recommended limit. Check the owners manual If not, it will be one scary load going down the road.

I have stated it here many times you need a 1 ton truck to safely tow that kind of weight. A dually would be best (I have towed SWRA and Dully and the Dually is so much more stabel. The Durango is really a passenger car/SUV. I doubt that it is equal to a 1/2 ton truck. There is no way that a half ton truck can safely pull a PW anyplace but around the block. I hooked my ff PW and trailer to my 1/2 ton 1990 Suburban just to move it around in the driveway. It really could not do it. The rear springs were not up to it and the front really came up and there was not enough power from the 350.

Do not even consider flat towing or using a dolly to tow your ff PW. I would consider a trailer rated at 10,000# to be a minimum and it should be hooked up to a 1 ton truck.

You will find a lot of guys on this forum have moved to a 1 ton truck after using lesser trucks.
