I've lost the link to this guys page, but his solution is the best I've seen to date. Hoping he will see this and post the link. He drills into the forward oil port deep enough to install two fittings on the block. He inserts and epoxies a disc at the base of the drilled port to close it off. Oil is then forced out the port closest to the engine, through a filter and back into the pump via the outer port. Well done!
