The bellhousing position is forward for v8's on '58's compared to 6's. If you look at the rear crossmember you will see a forward set of holes, that is where crossmember needs to be moved to. also notice two sets of holes in front crossmember. 315 takes a different bellhousing. Mechanical clutch linkage needs some longer parts. Intermediate propeller shaft needs to be longer. This is the way they were done at the factory for 8's. I have seen people "just drop em in" but engine is tilted down to clear firewall and added brackets were made to reach front crossmember or sidemounts were made.(not recommended). '59's are much eaiser to swap and dont have same rear position problem due to redesigned crossmember & hyd clutch.
