Tim: one way to solve the problem would be to paint the offending monster some other than military OD. Then it would fall into the category of a pickup truck. Better yet, if you had a WC-54 or M-42 you could call it an early model SUV and all the yuppie, soccer mom, liberals would want one. It is sort of the same as the dreaded "assault weapon" fear. If it's painted black and has a pistol grip and some sort of perforated heat shield on it - it's an "assault weapon" although it may be a Ruger mini-14 tricked out. The constant misunderstanding of the word "semi-automatic" burns my butt -they say it with a
tone in their voice as if they were describing death itself and then go on to explain that the semi-automatic weapon "sprayed" bullets all over the place. Yeah, right!! Just like my old Western field .22 tube magazine 15 shot rifle - ONE SHOT AT A TIME. It's probably a good thing I don't have kids in school anymore - I know I'd have to pick them up in my M-37 with USMC markings AND white stars (if that's not overkill, I don't know what is) and wearing my cammies and genuine 1956 USMC Utility cover just be waiting for some liberal to make a move. I'd probably be posting on the site for bail money.
