If it's 100 miles or less, just drive it! Modern half-ton pickups just aren't up to the job of towing anything very heavy no matter how it's trailered. Electric brakes and weight distribution bars help, but you still don't have enough capacity (axles, transmission, brakes, etc) to tow a 10,000 lb load. Get a 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck and a decent trailer if you want to tow a Power Wagon hither and yon.

Having said this... We've all done silly things at one time or another - there was the time I towed a Power Wagon down an 8% grade on an equipment dolly with no brakes... you can cover a multitude of sins if you really do drive slowly. Let me tell you, it takes a long time to cover 350 miles at 35 mph!
