You are living in the present. Stop. Step back into the past where your old truck is. Stop.
Your truck sounds right on the old power curve. 4.89 gears are a trade off. You will be reducing acceleration even further in trade for a slightly higher top speed only on very flat ground. Most power increases to a stock engine will not be all that noticeable and will not make all that much of a difference in your truck's daily performance. The key to happiness is for you to go back to where the truck is, instead of trying to make the truck come forward to where you are today. Power Wagons handle the Millenium best on back roads.
