We had a call, Saturday Night, for a MVA where a hispanic rearended a black woman, who was turning in her driveway. The grandson of the woman was injured, and was on the abmulance getting checked out. The driver who rearend the lady was on the side of the road with a possible broken ankle. I was responding with my own vechile since I was near by. What I did not know, was the grandfather of the grandson was packing a 9mm and wanted to shoot the driver that caused the accident. Our Attendent in Charge (AIC), tried to get the State Police but they were 15 minutes out, and the county police were unavailable. The AIC was able to calm the situation, before the State Police showed up. So about 10 to fifteen minutes after the accident we had hispanics on one side of the road and blacks on the other, with some packing heat. The AIC thought we were going to have a shootout. Finally the fire department arrives. They have some firemen that look like they could spit bullets, and kill with thier eyes. Mean looking fellers. Finnally the state police shows up and clears the scene. The driver who cause the accident was three times over the limit. We treated his deformed right foot and transported. which after he was released from the hospital, right to jail. I'm just suprised that for a rual area, we are having these problems that sound more like a city scenario. My apologies for the ethnic wording, but I need to set up the climate for the story. If this is too off topic and offensive, I ask the moderator to remove it. I've enjoyed this forum for many years and hope to start on my 55 FFPW as soon as my garage is completed. Thank you. Dave
