From what I have read, any mild steel will work fine for the sacrificial element. I have scraps of 16ga sheet left over from the Carryall rebuild. Easy to bend to encircle the item being de-rusted.
I get all my steel from Jeffords Steel Yard in Plattsburg, NY. Great prices and good people.
Strung a lot of dirty nuts on a wire today and hung it in the solution. 3 hours later, they were like new. Sure beats handling each one for cleaning. If you live anywhere in this area, drop by and we will cook something up in the tank. ha ha
