A guy I work with has a older Ford with the Navistar 7.3 non turbo. He said it was a dog untill he put a Banks power pack on it with a turbo then it really woke up. I'm not too concerned on the power issue as the truck has 6.16 gears. I dont think a turbo setup would be worth the $. I'm just using the truck for dump runs and firewood here locally.
I'm pretty much sold on the diesel and biodiesel concept and am trying to convert all my "keeper" vehicles over to oil burners.
The M715 is at a standstill right now. It took a lot of time and head scratching over the winter to fit the Isuzu diesel in. As soon as It was installed, something else came up and I havent really gotten back into it as its just a fun project, not something I use daily. The NP205 still needs fitment, and I have the M135 axles to put in also. Biggest engineering obstacle next is figuring out how to set up the power steering.
My bro-in-law has a '51 Power Wagon with extended frame and 9' military dump bed that he wants me to install a 6.2 detroit and 4 speed. We are installing 20" duallie wheels on it this weekend. The projects never end. His dad bought a really nice 3/4 ton command car that is sitting on a GMC blazer chassis. We need to pull the body off and install it on a WC-52 chassis this weekend also.
