Those 6.9 Diesels are pretty good. Seeing it has a ZF behind it, I can bet it came out of a Ford. The ZF is Okay, but not nearly as strong as the trans you have now. You have to make sure to keep a ZF full at all times, otherwise, they tend to leak, and you will kill the trans. Also the syncros tend to be sorta week, and most ZF 5 speeds dont have as low of a creeper gear as alot of the other HD transmissions. If you dont decide to go with the 6.9, ebay it or sell it, as it will bring you between $600-1000 depending on condition. Its a good engine, but the glow plug system sorta sucks.
