Starter help needed

Does anybody know if there is a difference between a 61'251 WM300 starter than a later model WM300 ?, Im now on my 2nd starter and don't have one that will work.I'm at the end of the road with this nightmare, when I bought the truck the starter was missing so I don't have one to compare a new one too. Any body have any ideas ?. Thanks Ken
