Of all of the trucks / cars I have bought and sold, I have never come upon this common scenario. I have an 02 Chevy Silverado which I am still paying on. I plan on selling it (not trading it in) and buying a new truck. Now, since the credit union holds the title, how can I sell the truck? My wife said" just get the amount still owed from the buyer, mail it to the credit union and they will mail me the title. Then sign it over to the new buyer and get the rest of the money. This sounds pretty complex and I cant see joe car buyer wanting to pay off my loan for me, and hope I come back to him with the title. There has to be a simple way to do this that I am not thinking of.
