It is an emotional trama... they are truely part of the family, and just don't live long enough.
Ours needed an operation and it wasn't a sure thing. We paid the money and took our chances, and Taffy is very much on the mend now.
Taffy is 11 years old, and I know we will be facing your pain all too soon...
I'm sorry for your loss.
The English Vet, James Harriot, wrote many wonderful dog stories in his "All Creatures Great and Small" books. He recommends getting another dog soon... it can be hard to do, but there are many dogs who need homes out there... and people need dogs.
