You do not say what year M37 it came out of. M37 have the synchro NP 420 transmission. I know that the earlier ones came came with a transmission that has the same bolt pattern as the early ff PW so it will bolt in without changing the bell housing. I am doing the same swap to my 51 PW. The later ffPW NP420 synchro trans will not fint into the early ff PW with out changing the bell housing. You will also need the center floor hump from a ff PW that had the NP420 trans in it. You will also need one of the floor pans. I can not remember if it is the drivers side or the passenger. I believe that it is the drivers side. I am still looking for a PTO from a later ff PW with a NP420 transmission to put in my truck. If I am correct the M37 one will work but you need the shift lever from a ff PW if I am correct.

The internals of the ff PW NP420 and the M37 NP420 are identical and can be swapped from one to the other. Only the bolt pattern on the case is different. They kept the old bolt pattern on the M37 so they did not have to worry about the two bolt patterns.

Key things for you to do is to check the bolt pattern on the trans and bell housing then pick up the floor boards and the PTO.
