If he REALLY wanted to get his hands dirty, he would have dove right in. I think gloves are a supervisor's badge of office, they say "I am experienced enough to NOT get involved in this job".... you notice he was experienced enough to know they come in pairs?...a guy with gloves on may come in handy, he's keeping his hands clean enough to turn pages in the manual...at least you know he's not a GI supervisor- if he was, he'd be wearing MITTENS...
