I got a filter at NAPA tonight and they did not have the original WIX cartridge. What they had was their NAPA Gold Series filter model 1006 (as in 51006). It sells for 17.81$+tx.
It is the same size as FRAM C4 but with the exterior made of punched metal tin instead of punched paper. In contrast with the C4, it comes with two rubber gaskets. One is the same size as the paper gasket that comes with the C4. The other is the right size for the Military Standard Filter but is a bit narower than the original.
Now that I have a good gasket, I'll keep it on and use up my C4 cartridges.
Vaughn, you may want to add this info (WIX 51006) to the PIF under "Military Standard Filter".
