If you can sell more product at higher prices, cost be damned. If you can lower your cost and still maintain market share, go for it. Dodge trucks and PT cruisers are selling like hot cakes, sooo....

Did you ever buy a 'life time' muffler? How about Craftsman tools? They go bad in a year, you come back to the same store, and get new tailpipes, or a pair of sneakers. All marketing, no quality. Change your marketing, change your warrantee. Look for a different sales pitch- "cheapest american car" or "from the Mercedes people" or "German engineered"- talk is cheaper than quality.
