Ken,

Disconnect the battery. Then take off the switch of the top of the starter, then mount a solenoid on the firewall. You can use a universal one from Tractor Supply or a Ford solenoid from NAPA. You will need a new ignition switch with a Start terminal as well as the Run, Batt, and Accy. terminals that the stock switch had. Run the battery cable to one of the big terminals on the solenoid, then from the other big terminal to the starter where the switch was connected before. Then run a wire from the Ignition switch start terminal (not the Run, Accy., or Batt terminals) to the small terminal on the solenoid. Test with ohm meter. If everything is right, reconnect battery and go...
