the 17.5 wheel only accepts 17.5tires
and there are different width 17.5 wheels
that take different size tires
the bead configuration for the tubeless
14.5 16.5 17.5 19.5 etc
is entirely different than the 15 16 17 etc
wheels
quite a few people made it to the promised land mounting 16.5 tires on 16in wheels
or they stayed here minus some body parts
