Jonas gave me a couple 4b tips on the west coast.
I think it was John Perry in CA that had a 70,000 mile takeout 4bt for $1900. And there is a non-turbo 4b in WA with 6,000 miles for $2000. I passed on both of these, because my local, independent Cummins guy thinks he can get me a p-pumped 4bta for $2500, and he'll be around to help me tune and maintain it.
My local guy said a 4bt rotary injection pump will wear out fast if it's turned up over 145 hp, hence my desire for an in-line pump.
With 4.89 gears, no overdrive,11.00 tires, I can get the Cryall to 70 mph on a very long flat stretch with the 230. It suffers severly on hills, and prefers to cruiseabout 50 mph. I estimate it has 90 hp and 180 lb ft of torque. Your basic 4bta will put out 120 hp and 270 lb ft of torque.
