My fishing partner has a '99 with over 100,000 on it with no lift pump or VP44 trouble of any kind. Our '01 was in the recall #'s for a replacement lift pump and it got a new one of those. Four days before the warranty expired it got a new VP44 but I think the mechanic liked me and it was easier to replace a bad cam sensor by removing the pump. He knew what to tell Star to get them to replace the injection pump. I didn't holler but I really don't think there was anything wrong with the pump itself. The mechanic told me to put a fuel pressure gauge on it or at least get it checked every couple of months. If it g
