Hey guys,

Well Melissa and I have a chance to get a truck to pull our Power Wagon to events with.

What we are looking at is a 1970 Ford F-250 with a 390 V-8 and C-6 automatic. This truck has a 1 ton axle(Dana 80)and leaf spring packs with overloads as well as heavy duty disc brakes on the front. We have to add a tranny cooler to the transmission and a tow package and trailer brake controller.

This is a really nice truck that a friend of mine has done tons of work on. With the 1 ton running gear we figured for $1100.00 it would be worth it. The only thing it doesn't have is a larger motor. Everyone I have talked to says the 390 will do the job but not very fast. Is this truck to light to do the job? Should we look for something else? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I know it's not a Power Wagon or a Dodge, but I grew up with a 1971 Ford F-100 that my father bought new. We are still driving it today with over 500,000 miles on the original running gear. So I have been wanting one like his but strong enough to pull my Power Wagon to events. We also figured, what would be more cool than a classic truck pulling another classic truck.

Here is a picture of it.

Thanks for the info.

Chris & Melissa Becker
