Great story...love those M37's! My brother and I used our two M37's hooked together to pull a buried deuce & half off a sand bar. W/ a little momentum these Dodges will get things going.
I had a great uncle (that got me into m37's in the early 60's a kid) that hooked his M37 for really heavy pulls by running a chain through a small steel loop attached to the pintle, over the rear axle , under the front axle and then into both lifting shackels up front, forming a giant "V" sling. With resistance from the stuck vehicle the rear end was pulled down and the front end was also pulled down for unbelievable tracion. Sometimes tough on the underside of the truck but it's just a tool for a job, right?
Keep'em rollin!
