JP 8 is what I call high octane diesel. Basically it's more refined then DF 1 or DF 2. I've been told that it also has the additives of both. It is a cleaner grade of diesel. Since Gulf War #1, the military has been going from DF 1 and DF 2 to JP 8. Robert
