You mean they have model numbers? I am in trouble now, not a dataplate anywhere, even the engine doesn't have a number on it, the serial # ID Tab is blank. The distributor is dead center in the head. The only number I could find anywhere is on the top/front mast frame - 35A5454. It looks like a Continental 4 cyl flathead, 12V w/alternator, front solid tires are 18x6x12-1/8 and the rears are 15-1/2x5x10. It has a double mast each section is 5', the lift cylinder is two stage, the bottom cylinder is 5"OD and 30" tall. The forks are 4" wide x 34" long. The forklift is only about 36/37" wide. The transmission has a centrifugal clutch I think... no clutch pedal, just a shift lever that takes it from reverse to nuetral to one speed forward. The dash panel is wired with a starter button, a light switch, ket switch, gas guage, temperature guage, amp guaga, and oil guage. Even though there is a lights switch the only external light is a small cone shaped light mounted in the rear, not working.

I know my first NEED is a replacement shift cable (F-N-R) and brake work (L rear wheel cylinder leaking for sure.... no brakes). I just looked at switching from a shift cable and fabricating direct shift linkage today, but it would be a much simpler repair if I cound find a used OEM cable (ha ha).

I talked with a guy today that speaks hydraulics and he mentioned that the two stage mast will only partially (1st ram=100%, 2nd ram=25%) go up is due to air in the upper cylinder. Bleeding it will solve that problem and from there I need to figure out how the air got in (leak in a line somewhere, just sitting, or what?). The fluid in the tank is full and not foamy.

So much for knowing anything about my "new" Mobilift forklift. If you can provide any data I will greatly appreciate it! I am located in San Mateo, Ca, just about 5 miles South of the San Francisco Airport.

Overall, this little forklift reminds me alot of my B-4-PW. I am even considering painting it Pink with Pin Stripes and parking next to my Pink FlatFender in the garage (this one was for the old tire guy :) It was yellow originally and is now Omahaha Orange (Very typical of auctioned CalTrans equipment?) It clears my garage door, even with the safety cage on (6&1/2' tall). This little FlatHead 4 fires up first turn and purrrrrs like my Flatfender Flathead 6.

Thanks!
