Your new one is just one wire for power, and it grounds through the threaded rod for mounting and the nut/washer. The old one had a ground wire. To get a good ground on the new one since you have heavy paint on the new grill (might prevent a good ground), connect a ground wire somehow to the new light, maybe a big eyelet wire end or something under the nut.
