There have been some excellent articles in Four Wheeler and Four Wheel drive in the last year or so on how to adapt a full size axle under a smaller vehicle by shortening the long tube side. The short side with differential housing is left alone. There are suppliers who manufacture the knuckle to weld on the tube. The axle shaft is then shortened or a custom axle purchased.
