If you are running fast enough to worry about balancing, you need to consider momentum. The 1100 x 16 tires are at least 80lbs each. Split rims weight at least 40lbs. Thus with your tires and the lighter rims - you have quite a bit of rolling mass to stop. Combat rims are considerable heavier and will make stopping harder (and balancing potentially tougher).
I hope this helps your decision. (My truck has 1100 x 16XL's too so I put the Helitool discs on the from).
