I don't know, that stuff is pretty thin. It seems to me to be about the consistency of a 50/50 mixture of wheel bearing grease and 90W gear oil. It may work into the wheel bearings too easily.

I am trying some of that for the first time now. I have put it in a post hole digger gearbox. This company used surplus Ford truck axle housings, on end, for their drive. There is no way the proper gear lube will ever stay in that housing with the original design and placement of the oil seals, though it probably worked well as a truck axle as designed.I used about 10 lbs. of corn head grease to fill up to the ring gear on the differential. We will see if it is thick enough to stay in there. The post hole digger company put grease fittings in the housing, so apparently they saw the potential problem and specified some sort of grease in place of the gear lube.
