I offroaded pretty hard with the Michelin 11.00 x 16s (39 inches tall)for about 5 years and never broke an axle but that was in a WC 3/4ton that had the center diff in the rear. The Power Wagons and M37s tend to break the right rear due to its inability to flex. In my 49 I broke one of those and have seen 3 M37s break right rear over the years.
