In Farriers book, there is a couple of paragraphs that describe numerous episodes of axle breakages. They come to the conclusion that going up and down those dunes without applying brakes using only acceleration and deceleration. Has the effect of twisting the axle back and fourth like a piece of wire. It would be easy to come to this conclusion, even with a 900-16 tires. Also if you have ever put the axles of a Dana 70 next to a FFPW axles. Lucian
