Since you don't think you got the answers to your questions, I'll try again.
I'm not an engineer or a mechanic, but I have owned and used a lot of winches.
1. Yes, you could break things by using the winch with the transfer case in gear.
2. I believe the 8000# capacity is the same regardless of the speed of the winch.
3. If the bolt pattern matches and the gears are appropriate match, yes. But even if this could work, why would you want to reduce the number of gears you have to retrieve the cable with?
