I'm going to guess that the last owner frequntly changed the oil. (It was a plow truck). I've never seen a used engine with a cleaner interior before. The bores do have some slight tapering. Not much - I slid the pistons past the ridges by pushing them out the bores by hand. A quick cylinder honing removed much of the ridges.
