I was just surfing the net, saw some info on the problems with putting roller lifters into early blocks, seems they let the oil out?

No matter how big that crack gets, it would only allow the oil to bypass the filter, not dump the oil back into the pan.

Have you dissassembled the relieve valve yet?

And, umm, hate to ask, but did you have enough oil in it? And the correct pick up to match oil pan? Front sump, rear sump, middle sump pans, each needs proper pickup. Does pick up go all the way to bottom of pan? Dip stick has to match too. Some Dodges needed 6 quarts, but 1 quart low is NOT your problem.

While the crank might be undersized, which you eliminated with plastigauge, it can't be ground oval, no way. One journal undersized? Perhaps a mismatched insert? Dial calipers would find that, maybe you can buy some at a pawn shop?

Rocker shafts are also pressure fed, possible end plugs missing? Or one shaft not seated properly, letting oil out at one tower? Or one bolt loose, letting oil out bolt hole?

Edit my email address, delete the (nospam) or it won't get to me.
