I used a semigloss Napa paint in a spray can but probably any good paint will do. You have to pull the stencil off when the paint is still wet, more on the tacky side. If not, you might lift the paint with the stencil if you wait too long. When you lift the stencil off the hood use the extra hands you have laying around the shop to keep the stencil from dropping onto the wet paint leaving a mark, like I did. You won't have that problem with the others on the sides.
