You can use a bigger hammer - or you can turn to page 303 of TM 9-808 3/4 TON 4x4 TRUCK (DODGE) that you surely have for your WC-51. Section XXXV, WHEELS AND TIRES, has words and pictures showing and telling you how to work on your tires. The first illustration in Section XXXV shows the Bead Lock Ring so you shouldn't have been surprised to find it.

If you did not want to spend the money for a manual, I hope you used that money to buy good injury or life insurance so your family won't suffer.

If you are one of those guys who won't use a map or a manual, sneak a look at the Wheel and Tire information on my web site. I am one of those POWER WAGON enthusiasts who spends money and time to maintain a web site with safety related information. There is plenty of tire information available on my site and on several other sites. Click on the Museum link below - then scroll down and click on Wheels and Tires in the Technical Support Section.

Use your eyes and brain when you undertake many tasks on our great trucks. That's always better than just using a big hammer.
