Loss of power in my WDX

My 46 WDX has lost considerable power under a load. In either 4th gear on even the slightest hill or a steep hill in all but first gear it does not have its normal power. I have blown the gas line out and checked the filters. The spacer between the carburetor and intake had worked itself loose so I tightened it but this did very little to improve the power. What do I check next? Thanks for any ideas!
