Where's it at? What does he want for it?

I picked up a barely driveable 52 Reo M35 gasser a few years ago with a trashed body and no electrics but with a front and rear winch (had been a pole-setting rig) for $500, which I figured was worth it just for the winches. Nobody really wants the 3052 trannies or sprag transfer cases these days. I towed it most of the way to my place, but had to drive it down the last 3 miles into the valley because the road's too crooked for towing. Had my girlfriend drive my good deuce in front in case the brakes on the Reo went out. That big old gas engine with its rusted-off exhaust made backfires that sounded like shotgun blasts all the way down.

The guy I got my Reo from told me the same story about how the rock-crawler guys pay $1000 each for the rockwell axles, so that story seems to be going around. Maybe it's true, especially now that you can't get residue trucks for $500 from the DRMO anymore, but I doubt it. Maybe $1000 after they've been totally gone over and rebuilt with disk brakes. One of the axles on my Reo's shot anyway.
